Blurryface Logo 3D Model
Hey there! Back in August of 2021, I modeled the logo for one of my favorite bands, twenty øne piløts. Their band logo has altered with every album, so be sure to check out the model I made for their album Scaled and Icy!
Building The Logo
First, I grabbed the icon from their 2015 album, Blurryface, and began by creating a torus to outline the outer shell of the object. Then, I created a black backdrop to fall in between it (so it would pop-out in isometric view), and proceeded to mimic the design of the 3 lines pictured in the middle.

Although it doesn’t contain the same lighting and texture properties as the version in Blender, to the right you’ll find an embedded a version of the model I uploaded to SketchFab. Click on the play symbol and you can view the model in a 360° perspective. |
Result
After a few days, I was able to complete the model and I’m quite pleased with the result!
Atlas’ Magical Moral of the Story…
In the future, I’d like to add a silver backing to cover the black filling in the back, making it resemble a key chain. Something I have learned from this experience, though, is that trying to compound texture files is not easy. And, since not all 3D environments are depicted with the same lighting, it’s likely to look different when I export it from one location to another. When working on developing objects for Parallax, I’ll have to make more of a layout plan to ensure that the mesh and its textures will be properly imported into Unity.
